COMMUNITY OUTREACH
Operation Elves Community
When I started Beaconhill Training and Development (BTD) in 2018,
I had two goals. I wanted to help in the professional community by offering tools, training and coaching that would help individuals, teams and leaders to grow and develop. My second goal was to use some of my revenue to give to those in need.
So, at the same time I started BTD, I also created a community of like-minded, caring individuals and formed “Operation Elves”. Through Operation Elves, we have teamed up with the Farmington (Maine) Elks to provide Christmas gifts for children in need within that community.
During the year, “elves” work to make, buy or donate money so we can provide blankets, hat sets (hat, gloves and scarf) and books to children between the ages of one through eighteen. If we gather additional funds, we use that money to buy some of the extras that children, especially teenage children, would like such as tents, cosmetics, and electronics. As the Elks have expanded their reach so did we; starting in 2022, we have added disadvantaged elderly with holiday gifts as well.
In addition to helping those in need through the Elks and Operation Elves, BTD supports three 2nd grade classes (in Wilton, Maine) with school supplies and books as part of a book club entitled the Diggity Dog book club. By giving these items it is my sincerest wish that it creates a love for reading and aids young students to be successful academically.
The success of BTD is paying it forward and using some of our revenue to make a difference in one community in need and it is my hope that in the future we will be able to extend our reach to other communities. I am thankful for the work and affect I can have on the professional community and the ability to extend that to helping others through donations and volunteer work. As of 2023, we have been able to donate more than $27,000 to help this community through educational support and the spirit of Christmas giving!
